Private Garden for Paddy Heron, just outside Eglinton. An existing mature garden with fine
views across Lough Foyle to Inishowen.
The house overlooks the front garden, which is dominated by a sloping lawn with several large shrubs and trees on the periphery.
Much of the existing planting is evergreen, so the addition of mixed borders will add colour and seasonal interest.
To take advantage of the change of level within
the garden, improved access is required, from
the driveway to the front of the house and the
client wishes to have a space in which to sit and enjoy
the views.
I asked for a design which would take away the bare look of my front lawn.
I wanted colour and low maintenance and nothing fussy. This is what I got. The contractor did a superb job -
arrived on time and worked hard and finished neatly, very satisifed.
The use of wooden sleepers softens
the overall appearance of the steps
and the seating area, while the
planting, although only in its first season, adds colour, texture
and scent.
